Rick Farley Soil Conservation Reserve

Protecting and enhancing Crown land is essential for business, tourism, recreation, wellbeing and biodiversity of the state.

Infrastructure

We are focused on planning growth and investing in infrastructure.

Wollongong lighthouse

We manage a variety of built and natural assets across the state including coastal infrastructure, walking tracks, dams, lighthouses and historical buildings.

The new Bowtells swing bridge. The bridge is several metres off the ground above a shallow river. The bridge is metal, and connects two dirt tracks in the bush.

The Bowtells Swing Bridge Refurbishment project is a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the safety and accessibility of the Six Foot Track, a historic 46-kilometre walking trail between Katoomba and Jenolan Caves.

In 2014, Crown Lands inherited 17 jetties and other assets in and around Lake Illawarra from the former Lake Illawarra Authority

Environmental

We protect and maintain the environment and natural resources of Crown land.

The Fivebough Wetlands Reserve maintenance project is a commitment to preserving the area's natural beauty and cultural heritage. This year's focus includes essential repairs and educational enhancements.

Crown lands has worked in collaboration with the Rural Fire Service and Soil Conservation Service to conduct helicopter aerial inspections of fire trails on Crown land.

Upgraded Kiama seawall

A new seawall and waterside walk has been completed at Kiama Harbour as part of a $3 million investment.

The Urunga Wetlands site is now a valuable community space following a $10 million program of extensive remediation and parkland work. It has been transformed from a once barren wasteland to a lively wetland habitat.

The Narrandera Industrial Hall restoration project seeks to safely remediate the site and reopen it to the public.
